The meeting found the middle value of 43 minutes, and the competitors were posed inquiries that distinguished their contemplations and activities promptly following the upsetting occasion (Anshel, 2001). Just 5 inquiries were believed to be essential, each had two elaboration and examining questions, which would request explanation, models, or other data. 1. To distinguish two game stressors; reflect back to a specific game and think about a circumstance that was unpleasant? And afterward rate them on a size of 1-10 (1 being the most reduced, 10 the most noteworthy). 2. To evaluate the examination. 3. To distinguish utilization of adapting techniques. 4. On the off chance that an adapting technique was utilized, was it successful or ineffective? The consequences of this examination appeared, in Table 1, was the competitors thought of intense pressure, this was positioned (2 inquiries, 56 stressors all out) and demonstrated which occasion the lion's share thought was increasingly upsetting. While Table 2 tried Lazarus and Folkman (1984) examination model of 3 classifications, hurt/misfortune, Threat and Challenge. The outcomes were hurt/misfortune (34% examination), Threat (48% evaluation) and Challenge (18% examination). Table 3, considered adapting procedures split into classes, approach and evasion, each including intellectual and conduct sub-classifications. Forces In Connection To Home Entertainment â€Myassignmenthelp.Com

Question: Examine About The Forces In Connection To Home Entertainment? Answer: Introducation The most importantly part of the Porters Five Forces is the danger of new contestants to the market in thought. For this situation, the market is that of home amusement and it very well may be said that there are prospects of other better alternatives entering the diversion showcase which have odds of being increasingly fit to the requirements of numerous clients. The online destinations just as the more current diversion applications additionally give a scope of shows which request to watchers of various age gatherings. The more up to date and better innovations may end up being contenders of the existent home amusement promoting if increasingly rewarding arrangements are related with them. Solid brand names can possibly challenge the brilliant TV choices. The choices of less expensive yet better choices will undoubtedly be progressively worthwhile to the individuals. The level of competition can be supposed to be moderate (E. Dobbs 2014). The following angle is that of the danger of substitutes or duplicates of the items just as administrations gave. For this situation, the shrewd TVs can without much of a stretch face rivalry from substitutes because of the way that there are a few alternatives for survey substance or demonstrates that intrigue to all age gatherings (Grimm 2017). This is moderately low as there are scarcely any contenders of the TV advertise and the administration has additionally restricted odds of conceivable rivalry (BetaNews 2017). Vital preferred position as indicated by Michael Porter is the appropriation of a minimal effort system where the administrations are given that are comparative or better than their rivals however the expenses are lower in contrast with them. If there should be an occurrence of the home amusement in association with savvy TVs, it tends to be said that the administrations gave ought to be worthwhile and valuable so as to interest the clients and it gets hard to substitute them (Lee, Kim and Park 2012). The Mystery Of The Missing Application Tracking Portlet

The Mystery Of The Missing Application Tracking Portlet I apologize for the confusion surrounding the removal of the Application Tracking portlet in MyMIT. The system is supposed to display a message explaining why the portlet is no longer there, but its not showing up for some reason. Ill look into this when Im back in the office. The Application Tracking portlet is gone because it is now definitively too late in the process to submit additional or missing application components. (It was actually too late weeks ago but our amazing records staff did an incredible job of processing things well beyond the deadline. On behalf of all of us, heres a big public thanks to them.) So this is just a quick entry to let you all know that everyones portlet has been removed, and it doesnt imply anything about individual decisions. Now that the Application Tracking portlet has been turned off, use it as an excuse to let go of the process a little bit. Youve done everything you can do, so try to have some fun in these next few weeks. Hang in there and try not to stress theres nothing left to do but wait, and if all goes well, youll know in 2 weeks and 53 minutes. :-) [Edit: to respond to the questions about midyear grades, please dont worry. If we felt we needed to see midyear grades in order to make a decision, and they werent in your file, wed contact your school directly to get them.]

Pride and Prejudice and Falling in Love Essay - 1487 Words

One of the most famous extracts from the novel, Austen allows her two protagonists to take each other on in a battle of words and wits, showing up the intellectual superiority of the two in sharp contrast to the superfluous nature of the people around them. Miss Bingleys attempts to attract Darcys attentions are lost in an extract that enhances Austens themes, develops her narrative and allows the romantic readers to catch their breath as we see Darcy and Elizabeth begin to fall for each other, despite their independent states of denial. By way of context, the dialogue between Darcy and Elizabeth takes place following Miss Bingleys attempt to show up Elizabeths ill breeding by parading around the room in front of Mr Darcy. In Miss†¦show more content†¦Vanity is physical pride, and so here Austen makes a distinction between pride in intellect and pride in physical appearance condemning only the latter, whereas the former where there is real superiority of mind... will always be under good regulation. Thus Austen shows that there is a form of `good pride and makes room to allow some characters to have this pride, namely: Mr Darcy, Elizabeth and, to a large extent, Mr Bennet. Austens use of irony and sarcasm in the novel shines through in this extract. For example, the irony of Darcys aforementioned statement lies in the fact that Darcy makes it, and Darcy was the man who originally deemed Elizabeth not pretty enough to even notice, let alone dance with (page 9) implying that he felt himself more attractive than Elizabeth or at least, deserving of a prettier partner. The issue of whether there was a cultural revolution during Essay Example For Students

The issue of whether there was a cultural revolution during Essay They did not to any extent replace the existing religious institutions in society, and so could not be described as revolutionary movements. The most they may have achieved is to have contributed to the trend of people turning away from the traditional church based beliefs, an ongoing tendency throughout the past 70 years. The sixties also saw innovations in art, with bold new artists who conflicted with traditional expectations and values. Cultural art might be defined as the traditional standards of that which dates back to Greek and Roman traditions, of representation, and decorative styles. We will write a custom essay on The issue of whether there was a cultural revolution during specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now Rothko contravened these traditions through work such as the Seagram Murals by audacious use of colour, to create abstract paintings with malicious intentions to disturb and unsettle the observer. Rothko was not the first painter to experiment with emotion and mood in paintings. Van Goghs The All Night Cafi , Arles aimed to express the terrible passions of humanity by means of reds and greens. The idea that tone could be conveyed by other manners than simply the objects pictured was an ongoing idea explored by artists from around the beginning of the nineteenth century. Sylvester identifies Rothkos work alongside this tradition of reconciliation of Apollo and Dionysus forms of art, part of a long tradition in artistic styles. Warhol was one of a number of so called pop artists disliked by Rothko, who also created pioneering works during the sixties. He used a new medium of silkscreen which did contain images, although presented in an unusual fashion. The images were particularly evocative of current events, using carefully treated photographic images. In some ways it is less counter-cultural than Rothkos work, as it does retain many techniques which have been used for the past centuries. It is evocative of the sixties, and used innovative methods, but these methods have led to questions as to whether it can be classified as art at all. The period since the sixties has often been characterized as post-modern some critics claiming that nonconformist art is no longer relevant to present art culture. It does seem that perception and treatment of artistic works did change. The changes within art were largely to do with monetary reasons. Rothko experienced conflict between monetary value and artistic value, whereas as the pop art culture of artists such as Warhol allowed art to be available to mass consumerism. Art in the sixties is demonstrative of counter culture activities of the time, and underwent big changes in its treatment, still very much evident today. However as in other areas, there was not a revolution, in that the old methods were not totally abandoned or disregarded, but the sixties were very important to artistic development. The sixties were a turbulent period, of mixed values and cultures. This may have been due to a number of factors, such as the increase in standards of living, the distress of the Vietnam War and exposure to different cultures. Many aspects of the sixties have remained to date, but Roszaks counter-culture that would see systems of logic and objectivity overthrown by emotional abilities never occurred. Much of the Cultural Revolution was a myth, society evolves constantly, and although the sixties saw a high degree of cataclysm, the basic tenets of cultural society have remained unchanged. On-tap Inspiration Online

On-tap Inspiration Online On-tap Inspiration Online On-tap Inspiration Online By Ali Hale Do you ever find that you have an hour or two free to write, but you just can’t get inspired? Whether you want a compelling idea for your next short story, a topic for your blog or a starting prompt for a poem, your brain just seems to be blank. If only there were some way to get inspiration on-tap†¦ Thankfully there is! It’s called the Internet, and it’s jam-packed with ways to find your next great idea†¦ Twistori Twistori finds Twitter feeds which contain certain words: love, hate, think, believe, feel and wish. To use it, just click on one of the words on the left-hand side, then watch text stream up your screen. If you click rapidly on several words, you can come up with some brilliant juxtapositions – often, putting together two very different thoughts can result in a great piece of writing. These are just some of the lines I saw. Any of these spark off some (maybe slightly crazy) ideas? I think Im inheriting a cat tomorrow I feel like Im riding my exercise bike to nowhere. Why cant I get frequent rider miles and fly to Italy with them? I can tell its already going to be a crazy super long week. I wish I could duplicate myself!! I hate birthdays and i hate signing cards and celebrating them at work. Imagination prompt generator The Imagination prompt generator gives you a random prompt every time you click. Good for non-fiction writers, especially personal essayists. Just click on the ‘Next prompt’ button. If you find writing on one prompt two easy, pick two to combine in the same piece. Here’s a few it came up with for me, and my thoughts on how they could be used. â€Å"List five books that youve read this year.† – If you’re a blogger, pick books on your topic and write a review of them for your blog. â€Å"Without my life partner, Id† – This would be a personal, reflective piece, perhaps something for your journal. It could even be suitable to send to a magazine. â€Å"Can you live without electricity for a month?† – Questions like this one could lead to an article on how dependant we are on electricity, or even a piece of fiction about a TV-and-computer-addicted teenager being taken on a very â€Å"low-tech† family holiday†¦ Random Word Generator combined with Flickr Open these two sites in different tabs or browser windows. The Random Word Generator will give you a word – and Flickr will find you an image. Get your word by hitting ‘New Word’ (it’s easiest to use nouns, but other types of word can yield interesting results.) Then type that word into the search box on Flickr. Pick one of the images that comes up – to get the best of the lot, sort by ‘Most interesting’. Don’t spend too long choosing your image, just pick one, click on the thumbnail in the search results to see the big version, and gaze at it for a while. This could yield ideas for a poem, story, article, even a letter or journal entry. We Feel Fine We Feel Fine asks the question â€Å"What are you feeling?† and finds answers from thousands of blogs. It is a rich source of emotions and ideas, and lots of fun to play with. Give it a minute to load, then click on one of the floating coloured blobs. (You can also change mode to ‘Murmurs’ to see a list of streaming text – try out the different options in the bottom left corner.) You’ll get thoughts like these: â€Å"i sometimes tend to dwell on not having the life i wish i had and then i hear stories like these and it makes me very grateful for everything i have† – This could be a great starting point for a blog post on gratitude, or perhaps for a story where a character undergoes a complete shift in their state of mind when they learn about someone else’s troubles. ‘i feel like for the first time my outlook on life has vastly improved’ – This raises a lot of questions: why has the speaker’s outlook improved? How were things different before? This could make a good start – or even a whole theme – for a story. ‘i don’t feel too guilty about it because i don’t cook breakfast for people who don’t get out of bed before nine thirty’ – You could take this in several directions; perhaps a short story about a mother exasperated with her layabout teenagers, an article about sleeping habits and waking-up times, or a blog post on how to become an early riser (though that topic’s been fairly well covered.) FICO Scores for Clients

FICO Scores for Clients Adding insult to injury, is a tough economy, where collections of all kinds have become problematic. Which is why businesses are doing their â€Å"due diligence† to make sure that customers have a history of timely payments, and that they are in good financial health before signing on the dotted line.  This is determined What is a FICO score? Its simply a 3-digit number that reflects your credit-worthiness. Think of it as being like a grading system. And we all have one, if weve financed a purchase like a house or a car, or a big ticket item. This score takes into account your history with lenders, what types of credit you have had, and how long youve had a credit history. The score ranges from 300-850.  As business owners, freelancers should follow suit and apply a similar type of screening to assess potential clients. Why? Because late and missed payments can impact our quality of life, cause undue hardship, and make it difficult to provide for our families.  And though you can’t obtain their credit information per se, there are ways for you to easily research and analyze the backgrounds of potential clients to detect red flags and assess the likelihood of future pay and profitability.  FICO SCORING FOR FREELANCE CLIENTS AND PROJECTS  FFeedback. Do you agree with Eguchi That sex and death are related Essay

Do you agree with Eguchi That sex and death are related - Essay Example These young women stay asleep throughout the visit and while men can sleep next to her, they cannot sleep "with" her. The warden of the brothel warns Eguchi in the very beginning of the novel: "He was not to do anything in bad taste, the woman of the inn warned old Eguchi. He was not to put his finger in the mouth of the sleeping girl, or try anything else of the sort." (p. 13) The curiosity of the old men to see what actually happens in this house and the mystery of the sleeping girls opens many doors of discussion. It brings many questions to the mind and the reader is provoked to seek his own answers. How is sex connected with death here Why are sexually impotent men allowed in this house and why these men would want to sleep next to sleeping young girls Death is critical to the discussion because the entire novel revolves around it. The old man's age puts him closer to death, the sleeping girls resemble dead people and lack of noise and sound in the house also signifies death. I do not however agree with Eguchi that sex and death are related. There is a link between the two but that is in their sheer contrast and not any similarities. Sex is a completely opposite force. It injects life-force in people and makes them even more aware of their existence. The lack of sex in the place is thus closely connected with the onset of death. The quest begins with Eguchi's need for erotic gratification. He is sexually potent but needs to know more than having sex. He wants enlightenment and the experience forces him to confront who he really is. The youth and beauty of his companions at first excite him: "He caught his breath. She was more beautiful than he had expected. And she was young too. It was as if another heart beat its wings in old Eguchi's chest" (pp. 18-19). Eguchi feels young again and this is where we get an idea of why old men might choose to come to this place. Their main purpose was to drink from the well of youth that lies next to them. By looking at youth and its beauty, they feel a difference in themselves. However the reason Eguchi feels death is close to sex is because lack of later in this house makes old men even more aware of their old age and their death. When he looks at the girl, he wonders if she is alive because she looks dead. The silent and stagnant position of the girl forces him to think about how the girl had been turned into a living toy: " Though this girl lost in sleep had not put an end to the hours of her life, had she not lost them, had they sink into bottomless depths She was not a living doll for there could be no living doll; but so as not to shame an old man no longer a man, she had been made into a living toy. No, not a toy; for the old men she could be life itself." (p. 20) The girl represents much more to Eguchi at first. She is a symbol of life for him because of her youth and freshness. He carefully observes her body and features and realizes she was quite young: "She could be life itself." (p.20). His friend had also told him that he would "feel alive" sleeping next to such a woman. But Eguchi is still scared. There is fear in his soul as if something bad was about to happen. The fear becomes very real when near the end, the girl mysteriously dies. Eguchi informs the proprietress who gives a shocking. The whole crux of the story lies in that

Crown Cork Seal Company Case Study Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Crown Cork Seal Company - Case Study Example The strength of the Crown Cork Seal Company had appointed a leader known as McManus who was energetic and made rate of returns of the company to increase as it had previously suffered from heavy losses due to loss of patents. John Connell instituted the aspect of accountability through ensuring that its managers took control of all activities of the company in the right way .It also provided quality goods and served the customers in the right way (Bacon 102). The major weaknesses of the company were; reduction of patents for producing bottle caps for manufactures of soft drinks and brewing companies that lead to stiff competition from competitors in the industry. In April 1957, Bank Trust Company stated that it would not led it any more credit to run its operations thus was at the verge of bankruptcy. The company realized its opportunities through abandoning its paternalistic culture where the structure of the company was well made to accommodate the ideas of its employees in order to improve on its performance. John Connell set up strategies aimed at reducing the amount of debts through paying bank its debt by reducing its inventory and closing some of its plants that were not generating any income to the organization. The numbers of its staff were as they were not fulfilling their obligations as required thus led to poor performance of the company (Bacon 102). The small change of having may companies demanding for the can products did lead to the declining of the profit margin of the can manufacturing companies Porter's five forces analysis It is technical framework that is used to analyze an industry through studying the macroeconomic forces that are close to a company that has an ability to serve the customers in the best way possible as well as increase its sales returns. Strategy consultant uses this technique to evaluate that strategic position of a firm. The forces include; forces of horizontal competition such as threat of substitute products, threat of established firms and threat of new entrants. A vertical force of competition involves the bargaining power of both suppliers and customers of an organization (Grant 64). The metal industry consist of five firms such as American national Can ,Reynolds metal, Ball corporation, Corn cork seal, Van Dorn company, continental can and Heekin can companiys. These companies faced stiff competition from other companies that used aluminum and steel to make containers for packing their products. The company's included; Brewering Company's and soft drink bottlers. For instance the soft drink and brewering companies wanted to have greater economies of scale through having a suitable market share by obtaining price discounts for their packaging materials. The shrinking of customer base and overcapacity for the packaging materials led to the decline of profit margins of the manufacturing company while at the same time can manufactures had their profit margins declining due to offering discounts in order to protect their market shares in the industry (Grant 64). The company's facilities were dilapidated therefore could not generate income for the organization. The cost of production and transportation was quite high. The key issues that the company should be focused on include; dealing in product lines that are profitable since there were many companies in

Maritime Shipping Industry in Mozambique Digital Marketing

Maritime Shipping Industry in Mozambique Digital Marketing Research question: how does digital marketing can attract and retain customer for the maritime shipping industry in Mozambique? This era of digitalization have been proven to bring more opportunities to companies, especially nowadays where companies are running to a race to the data and the information and in the same time new ways to attract customers and retain them. One might think that Shipping companies are not able to get those opportunities since the area seems close to this technology. However, our data revealed that Even Mozambican shipping companies can indeed profit of the digital marketing in order to attract and retain customer this is in line with the finding reported by (Efthimios Poulisaà ¢Ã‹â€ -, Konstantinos Poulisb and Lawrence Dooleyc 2013) they stated that Information communication technology (ICT) and Internet technologies not only have the potential to facilitate inter-organisational collaboration and communication but also offer organisations the potential to disrupt how their industry delivers value across its supply chain. Despite the lack of infrastructure and the decision maker reported by Mr Issa Baluch who stated that Evangelista, P., Sweeney, E. (2006). Technology usage in the supply chain Shipping companies in Mozambique has the possibilities to gain profit from digital marketing because a company should challenge itself to be creative and stay more competitive especially in the shipping industry , being innovative lead a company to face competition and gain from any economic growth , this is in line with the finding reported by (Jenssen Randoy, 2006) who stated Theory suggests that the ability to innovate is one of the most important factors for survival, competitiveness, economic growth and profit in individual shipping companies. With the impact of digital marketing, now companies can perform well with the use of selected social media, indeed platforms such as Facebook, twitter, Instagram, are well known for their freedom to accessing and engaging with customers, because there is not intermediaries between the customers and the company, this is also in the line with the findings reported by Zsolt, K, Miklos, S (2014) claiming that Maersk Line garnered over 1 million fans on Facebook, 40,000 followers on Twitter, and 22,000 on Instagram. They also launched and became active on other social media networks such as LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Google+ and created a social media home base for Maersk Line called Maersk Line Social that published articles and stories about the company in a less formal manner The example about Maersk can lead shipping companies in mozambique that any kind of companies has his chance when it comes to digital marketing, and the abilities of reaching ,engaging with customer and make profits of it depends on the faculty of a company to invest themselves in the digital marketing and get to master in order to get more profits and stay competitive in a higly competitive sector. the benefit of the use of digital marketing for the maritime shipping companies The data and information we have gathered from our interviewed and the respondents of our survey questionnaires all agreed about the fact that shipping companies can really benefit from the digital because firstly because its a company in the first place and secondly digital marketing is a tool that can allow companies to get more attention from customers. This coincide with the findings of loredana (2015) , he stated that many companies are interested to increase the use of the content marketing tool in their marketing policy, as they notice the limitations of the traditional marketing communication strategy, as well as the huge opportunities brought by digital marketing Many companies are indeed interested by the digital marketing as a an alternative tool from the traditional marketing but in order to run perfectly in the shipping industry, digital marketing must be used in a certain environment, Mr Issa Baluch stated that In a holistic environment, when I say holistic, I am incorporating the part of digital marketing in all the scheme of digitalization then its very important to attract and retain customer in the industry. In isolation, just doing this without digitalizing the rest of the supply chain in the company, I think its a problem and the problem is they must be a link between marketing, operations, finance. In our research weve discovered that most companies are afraid of digital marketing, this fear comes from two reasons, the first one is a generation , most shipping companies , the biggest one are in the area for a long time and for those who managed to survive without digital marketing, is hard to think that tool can bring so much opportunities. The second reason is some companies have a passive attitude toward digital media and they do the least effort just to be in the trend of digitalization and not actually invest themselves more in the process, companies are either not aware of what happens in the digital world or they just dont want to influence or redirect their current strategy, this is in line with the finding from (Jenssen, J.I., Randoy 2006) it stated that companies know that they can enhance their performance with the digital marketing but dont want to and dont wish to. In the same time, it can show that companies are afraid of the competition when it comes to digital marketing, they prefer adopting a passive attitude toward technology and also make less profit , because they dont want the competition to benchmark their strategy and do the same thing. There is a conflict here between being innovative technologically and attracts more customer and in the same being productive and competitive , and dont allows another companies to grasp their way to communicate and make profit , the best way is to say at a minimum level and keep his objectives too at the minimum. However regarding this matter, Mr Issa Baluch stated that as the history as taught us, those who have embarked on digitalization in other countries, they have been able to particularly retain customers because you have customer data bank, you have them hook at you, you can service them and its easy to gage the plus and the minus because they are with you We can say that digital marketing should be considered as a mean to gain visibility and attraction, it allows companies to be more efficient in his desire to attract more people in his whole vision and retain them with his philosophy and service. So we can say that the tool itself digital marketing can be beneficial to shipping companies in order to reach customers, after that step companies should capitalize on that attraction by using promotion of his services and advertising , in order to those opportunities to be well managed especially in the maritime area , digital marketing must be used into all the departments of a company in order to create a whole ecosystem, allowing customers to be followed on each step they pursued while reaching a company for his services, we are talking here from the marketing perspective, the finance perspective and the actual service. Now regarding the Mozambique, Digital marketing can be beneficial for the maritime shipping companies in Mozambique however before managing to capitalize on this attraction and retention, Mozambican companies must know how to use it, in order to get full advantages of what he can offer as opportunities. When we talk about opportunities, we refer to adjective, such as competitiveness, brand awareness etc. that allow companies to be on the edge of the technology and be more competitive with others companies. Regarding Africa and especially Mozambique, digital marketing can indeed be beneficial for the maritime shipping companies especially for the main reason that it can be handled online dont fully required a premium infrastructure at least in the beginning to perform, especially for platform such as ecommerce which is well spread around the country adding to that features related to online application such as online payment. However the limits can come quite rapid and the need of a required infrastructure in order to perform in a higher level. This kind of issue could be fixed by the willing of the Mozambique on the edge of technology and stay competitive. Mr Issa Baluch stated that Ecommerce in general is taking off, and its very big in other countries but in Africa it is wanted, it is still crippling, the reasons are the laws are not yet in part of the development We can considered that factor as a lack of taking advantage of an actual online potential for maritime companies and for the country as well. Shipping companies can benefit from the digital marketing in Mozambique, since digital is still considered a new tool, it requires investment, learning and mastering in order to perform well and get results wanted by companies. Weve discovered through our research that social media is one of the features of digital marketing that are the most used , communication through platform such as Facebook, YouTube and Instagram Digital marketing profit of the technological advantage on being able to use data to specify and targeted a customer need thanks to the data collection provided by those platform using complicated algorithm in order to be specific on what a customer really want to be satisfy in terms of product and services. The digital marketing can enhance and be profitable for the shipping company and industry if its implemented Through our research , weve discovered that companies have some reluctance to implement digital marketing in their marketing strategy , weve also discovered that these factors are from two origins : a generational issue, long time companies are afraid to reveal informations of their company because of the competition or simply because of the easy access of the information nowadays, sensible information can be leaked or competitors can take advantages of a flaw discovered online , finally they dont think its worthy. The second origin is due to a passive way to not get fully advantage of the digital marketing and in the same time , they dont have the requirements in order to master the knowhow, indeed digital marketing even though it seems to have simple features, it requires learning and mastering to perform well. Our main finding is that customers are the backbones of maritime companies, because it allowed them to be more creative and renew themselves regularly this is in line with the finding stating To understand a company and its products, consumers need to know what type of company they have to do with, as well as what values are associated with it and how its employees come to meet the customers needs (Denning 2011, 47) The customer orientation is a highly a discussed issue in the logic that shipping companies are not different from others companies from others sectors in the fact that they need customers to survive and their efforts should be directed customers of the maritime shipping companies. Customer orientation for the shipping company is an important matter because it defines their strategy and in term of digital marketing that can be also seen as a limit due to the fact that some companies are so eager to please their customer that it can influence their strategy in the end. However since customer orientation is different from the complexity of each customer, betting on please customers that way, can jeopardize the image of a company and sometimes there is no turning back to this kind of situation. Our finding reveal that companies that have a digital marketing face tend to attract more customers than the others companies which dont. Internet technologies are indeed an effective tool to engage with customers and in the same time to reduce cost, it shows that companies with a functional and regularly updated website attracts more customers and also provide more customer service, this is in line with the finding stated by Mr Issa Baluch saying that companies that are succeeding must have their hand on their website because this is the face of the company and then build on it This suggest that shipping companies which takes the step of digital have better responses to his customer , if they have an updated website in order to answer in the best way the need of the customer. Through our research, weve noticed that regarding the shipping maritime industry in Mozambique or in general, we have two types of company The one with an open minded philosophy and vision that embraces new technology such as digital marketing, learn how to use, and mastering it in order to perform well and make the most from it, make profits, have more visibility and brand awareness The second type which is a shipping company that think that invest in such strategies is worthless for the reasons quoted earlier ( fear, passive attitude etc) and would still survive the year despite the technological loss and potential that they can use in order to be so much more efficient and face the competition with more accuracy and efficiency. Propositions Companies can benefit from digital marketing in general however our research is focused on the shipping industry , and that complicates thing because according to our finding companies can survive without having to use and implement digital marketing in their strategy. The environment of the maritime industry allows companies with a portfolio of customer to be able to succeed without relying on other technology thats the reason why maritime industry is considered as a low technology sector compared to other sectors such as automotive. Thats why the subject was interesting to pursue, as reported by Efthimios P, Konstantinos P Lawrence D (2011) they stated that they explore the impact that the digital networked environment is having on the traditional service-based industry of freight shipping within global supply chains Although our data seems to fit to this particular subject however we have some propositions regarding the matter , we think that digital marketing would be beneficial for maritime shipping companies, especially to small one that need visibility in this volatile environment dominated by the big firms. I would be profitable for a company to implement digital marketing in his strategy, in order to profit to the digital tools that lead companies to communicate at all levels, because of the nature of his environment, shipping industry is highly competitive so digital marketing could be an alternative to grasp some markets parts especially in Mozambique where the big firms have the most of the market share and the small one have to share the remaining left. Social media should be better considered by maritime companies in Mozambique because when its mastered as the example of Maersk, it can bring several opportunities, however when misused or when a company doesnt know to used it, it could jeopardize the image of a brand or a company, that could fatal for a sector so competitive; thats why it should not be taken for granted otherwise the consequences could be bad and in the same time, a company could miss several opportunities to be more competitive. Countries such as Mozambique shows an increase level of technology use, via the spreading of smartphones and the development of online structure such as ecommerce and online payment, digital marketing would be a huge help to capitalize on those factors and could open the road to the use of other tools of the digital marketing such as the search engine media. According to our findings It would advantageous for maritime shipping industry to considered the use of email marketing as a way to communicate and engage with customer , they could add this tool to the social media to reach a bigger audience while staying professional. Limitations To give out a robust work on this domain, it would be useful to carry out a large study scale with more Mozambican companies, the real issue was since everything (survey and questionnaires) was made online , people tend to not answer to surveys , we could use more of people answering directly of survey questionnaire allowing us to gather more data We could also added to that, a case study related to the subject in order to compare between two different time, the time where the case study was published against a new recollection of data for the same area and the same subject We could also regret the lack of studies or essays regarding the digital marketing for the maritime shipping in Mozambique or Africa in general, most Africans countries can encounters the same issue and face the same challenges, so it could be an interesting way to improve thing for future generations. Given the importance of maritime shipping industry and also as the backbone of the commerce of some countries especially in Africa, the main implication from a research point of view is that further and more advanced investigations could be done in this field for Africa or a specific country in order to show that shipping companies can benefit from the use of digital marketing and can improve his visibility , and also can attract and retain customer even for this field , those facts can be applied to other fields as well.

A Christmas Carol

Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol illustrates many themes of the Victorian era. Poverty, charity and greed are major themes of this work. This essay highlights examples of these themes as portrayed by Dickens.Poverty was a striking characteristic of Victorian England, especially noticeable in the cities.   The population grew exponentially during the nineteenth century so it is a very practical suggestion offered by the Ghost of Christmas Present when he observes of Tiny Tim, â€Å"If he be like to die, he had better do it, and decrease the surplus population†(Dickens). As a result of overpopulation, there was huge pressure on housing which in turn led to poor sanitary conditions and rampant destitution. ‘The ways were foul and narrow, the shops and houses wretched; the people half-naked, drunken, slipshod, ugly. Alleys and archways, like so many cesspools, disgorged their offences of smell, and dirt† (Dickens).Children from lower class families suffered hugely as a result of poverty during this era.Families sometimes had to turn their children out because they couldn’t afford to keep them. In Stave Two, Scrooge’s sister Fan says, â€Å"Father is so much kinder than he used to be, thatI was not afraid to ask him once more if you might come home and he said yes you should† (Dickens). Children all too often, were the open faces of poverty during this era. At the end of Stave Three, the Ghost of Christmas Future shows Scrooge his legacy as a result of his greed i.e. two very destitute children. â€Å"The boy is Ignorance. The girl is Want† (Dickens). With huge poverty, came the birth of social conscience amongst the middle and upper classes. Many charities that exist today have roots in the Victorian era. Scrooge gets a sudden attack of charity after seeing himself alone as a child. He says, â€Å"There was a boy singing a Christmas carol at my door last night. I should like to have given him something, thatà ¢â‚¬â„¢s all† (Dickens). Philanthropy also, was a growing practice and to die without leaving money to the less fortunate especially during such times of poverty, was almost unthinkable. â€Å"What has he done with his money?† asked a red-faced gentleman. â€Å"I haven’t heard†, said the man, â€Å"left it to his company, perhaps. He hasn’t left it to me. That’s all I know† (Dickens).Christmas time was the perfect opportunity to illustrate the charitable obligation of the rich to the poor.   Christmas time stressed traditional values of neighborliness, charity and good will.   Accordingly, Scrooge buys the largest turkey he can find for the Cratchits in order to change the course of the future. In Stave Two, the Ghost of Christmas Present shows Scrooge a scene from Mr Fezziwig’s Ball in order to illustrate that happiness and cheer can be given to people without costing a fortune. Scrooge concludes, â€Å"The happiness he giv es is quite as great as if it cost a fortune† (Dickens).Whilst a lot of charity and philanthropy no doubt resulted from an honest desire to ease the suffering of the poor, guilt also played its part. Many assuaged their guilt by giving to charity but they also didn’t want to waste charity on the undeserving. If we were giving Scrooge the benefit of the doubt, perhaps this is why he chose not to give his money away. â€Å"No beggars implored him to bestow a trifle† (Dickens). The opposite of charity is greed. The Ghost of Christmas Present says, â€Å"There is nothing on which it is as hard as poverty, and there is nothing on it professes to condemn with such severity as the pursuit of wealth† (Dickens). Like Scrooge, if one dedicated his life only to the accumulation of wealth, he was likely to pay for it in death. â€Å"It’s likely to be a very cheap funeral† said the businessman, â€Å"for upon my life I don’t know of anybody to go t o it!†(Dickens)Victorian society norms dictated that it was literally unthinkable to be greedy. In Stave One, Scrooge is visited by men asking for donations. â€Å"What shall I put you down for?† asks the man. Scrooge replies, â€Å"Nothing!† The man misunderstands Scrooge, â€Å"You wish to be anonymous?† The church played an important role in imparting the virtues of charity and the consequences of greed. The Ghost of Christmas Present says to Scrooge, â€Å"It may be that in the sight of heaven, you are more worthless and less fit to live than millions like this poor man’s child† (Dickens).

Racism has impacted the US for hundreds of years and is continuing to be a key factor in society. It all started long ago when slavery began, whites were saw as the superior race and people of color were made to feel inferior which is why whites made them their slaves. Slave masters used excessive force as a way to instill fear and to force cooperation. These masters saw whipping as a way to flex their power and authority. There have been many incidents, and continues to be incidents of discrimination from higher powers that are put in place to serve all citizens including but not limited to; the police, teachers, and other government officials. Protesting takes place when the people (citizens of the country) feel that they’re not being heard and are being subject to injustice because of their race or gender. Feelings of injustice is what fuels citizens’ to exercise their first amendment rights; protesting and freedom of speech. Some protests can be violent while others are non-violent. Don’t waste time! Our writers will create an original "The Influence of Racism in the USA" essay for you Create order Many places have held non-peaceful racism protests, that proves to be more effective that violent protests, like Melbourne. Non- peaceful protests are effective in making a difference and reversing behaviors of discrimination for the greater good of the people. A peaceful protest grants the opportunity to present the injustice behavior and to receive a solution. An example of a peaceful protest that has received a solution is Martin Luther King’s protest at Selma. Most peaceful protests turned violent because of outside forces like the police bringing dogs and fire hoses to disturb the peace. When tensions rise and one party feels threatened everything turns sour and taints the entire protest. The focus or reason of a protest is forgotten when it turns violent which is why many outside forces get involved, to distract the public from its purpose. The protest at Melbournes racism protest turned violent because men got to aggressive. According to author Jake Nowakoski† About two dozen people dressed in black and wearing masks still managed to interrupt an anti-Islam rally, setting flags alight and scuffling with news photographers†. This is an example of how people interact at peaceful protest and outside forces taints the entire rally distracting what’s trying to be done. (Jake Nowakoski) Violent protests aren’t the key to freedom, simply because it shows ignorance and proves many stereotypes to be true, here are some things that will make your protest ineffective, â€Å"More than 100 anti-racism activists had earlier gathered at the steps of Parliament, chanting lines including No Hate, No Fear, fascist are not welcome here†.(Victoria) Insulting the oppressors is not a way to get them to see things the way the public sees it, it is shameful that people must use derogatory language to get their point across. There are alternative ways to get freedom and liberty, sometimes it’s best to be submissive and not rowdy, especially when an irrational person has a weapon because speaking out sometimes leads to one’s great demise. Life is too precious to die at an early age many people have already died for our freedom, there shouldn’t be any more lives lost over the ignorance of others, we all want to live our life as equal human beings and have true freedom. Most protests in the African American/ people of color’s community is for equality, The â€Å"Peaceful† protest was ineffective because of the violent ways that they have inherited from different generations. Most citizens get arrested or imprisoned for misbehaving at a peaceful protest, in which they are brutally beaten. Melbourne host Racist rallies often, in which nothing changes, I fact things may get worse. According to the author Getty† Some protesters were sprayed with capsicum foam and a scuffle broke out after the two groups hurled abuse at each other and attacked others with flagpoles flying the Australian flag:†(Getty). Things over there get worse by the day, because of their functions. Melbourne has a one of the highest crime rates, because of their protest which are unlawful for humanity. Recently, in the African American communities a lot of racism has stirred up causing different races too to be bitter. One protest was the Michael Brown protest which was non- peaceful and had a lot of influence on the African American communities. Details occurred about the death because two days later, white police officers were gunned down and killed by a black male. This only made things even worse because that cause a huge riot. The protest resulted in many different fatigues and a lot of hurtful things that still, has an affect on the court case. Gully says† Mr. Wilson is white. Mr. Brown was Black. The demonstrators see the case in terms of racism and police brutality.† This shows that the protests were even worse. Michael Brown has a huge affect on the african american society as a whole and we should have enough respect for someone who stood up for the community. The African Americans point still havent gotten their point across yet so the only way to do it is between non-peaceful protests. African Americans should stand up for whats right in society. Brown was an innocent man who went into the store to buy him some cigarillos and was shot by a caucasian policeman; Darien Wilson. â€Å"Mr Wilson is white. Mr Brown was black.†(unknown author) The demonstrators see the case in terms of racism and police brutality. This caused people off the top of their head to think that it was a racist â€Å"thing†. When they found out that the shooter was found not guilty the people start thinking they were taking up for him and that have to be seen to get their point across which was a protest. It started off peacefully but police came and others which turned it into a non peaceful protest. â€Å"Mr Wilson is white. Mr Brown was black. The demonstrators see the case in terms of racism and police brutality. In conclusion, non peaceful protests are very effective. Racism has existed for centuries, and there is still a chance to minimize it but it will never truly end. Racism should end because by it continuing it continues to segregate the races and the chances for the unity of races and true peace. Racism may also lead to more violence within the countries because of the hatred of someone because of the color of their skin. It may also lead to more violence within the countries. Racism should be stopped because no race is superior to any other race. All races should have equal opportunities as other races. I used three sources that prove that non peaceful protests are effective and they got the result they were looking for.
